From the Mouths of Babes

Warren often likes to play with the home phone, something he is not allowed to do. Why he keeps picking it up only to get a slap on the hand is beyond me...besides the whole sin issue of course. Today, though, something funny came of it.

Me (after noticing that Warren was eyeballing the phone): Warren, don't touch that phone!

Jake (quietly, maybe so I couldn't hear it): Yeah, and don't even think about it.

And More

I guess most of the pictures I was thinking I had are on mom's camera, so as soon as I get those I'll post them too. But here are the ones I had.

My mom and I were having a blast watching Aubrey holding her head up and making cute smiley faces!

Shooting guns was something my sister and I did lots of when we were growing up, so of course my dad had to continue the tradition with our guys! (It's just a pellet gun, for those of you who might be a little worried!)

Cuddling on the hammock. It was chilly that evening so Warren had to cover up with his Cowboy quilt!

And my favorite picture of the little guys.

As Promised

So I've been playing with the photo options on the computer, and so far so good. I like this system better than what we had before, it's a little more user-friendly.

Here's Aubies and I wearing matching stripey purple.

Well I'll start with a couple of pictures from before we even left on vacation. When my parents came to visit a week before we went up there, my dad bought the boys some water guns. They had a wild wet weekend needless to say.

And here's a few more random cute ones.

They boys & girl in the morning.

Warren's 2nd Birthday party (the first one) was at Grammy & Papa's house and included lots of baseball stuff, fun family, and unseasonably chilly weather (which made us very happy!). Oh, plus a new bike, which was the highlight of the party.

Ok, I'm going to end this post and put up more pictures in the next one. Ciao.

Home Sweet Home

Hi all,

We just got back from a long trip up at my parent's house. We had a great time and 8 days packed full of things to do. And not that any of you can tell, but I'm typing from our new laptop! Woo woo, it's fun to get a new computer courtesy of our wonderful President's economic stimulus package. Our computer was on the fritz so we got this shiny new Dell laptop to replace it. Amazing thing this computer is; it's got more memory and gigs than our old one, and much faster. AND it's midnight blue. AND it has a cd burner so we can finally stop taking chances with our digital pics and get them on discs. AND it has Windows Vista, which I happen to think is really cool.

Anyway, back to the week. Actually, before we left for our trip, we celebrated Warren's 2nd birthday with Ryan's family. (I'll put up pictures of all these events later, haven't quite figured out all the picture features yet on the computer.) The drive up went very well, better than expected with Aubrey. She slept most of the time and we only stopped twice for food and bathroom breaks. The week was taken up with lots of motorcycle rides from Grandpa and even one from Mommy. Yes, I gave Jake a motorcycle ride, but we didn't get a picture of it! The boys learned how to shoot a pellet gun, we had another party for Warren and my cousin Josh, and I can't even begin to count the number of owies the boys got during the week. At least 2 a day each. It seems the clumsy stage set it for both of them at the same time. We were all terribly spoiled by everyone, especially my parents.

Well, we made it back safely after a very long car ride due to CalTrans repaving Highway 5 and causing an hour long delay. We're all glad to be home (Jake even said so!) but miss grandma and grandpa lots (and Billy).

Like I said, I'll post pictures as soon as I get them loaded onto the computer. Hope everyone is well, staying cool, and enjoying summer!

From the Mouths of Babes

It was night time for the boys the other day and we were tucking them in. Jake has started not sleeping on his pillow and we never understood it...until I asked him.

Me: Hey Jakie, why don't you want to sleep on your pillow?

Jake: Because I don't want to get my cooties on it.

Me: But it's your pillow, it's ok to get your own cooties on it.

Jake: No, I just don't want to.

So for all of you who sleep on your pillows, beware the cooties.

For Mom

Split Personality

I think my sons have 2 different people living inside them. They are usually active, running, screaming, playing, jumping, and generally being boys until their little sister enters the room. Then they are like this:

A little over a month later and they are still in awe of her and become the sweetest little yahoos on the planet when they get to hold her and love on her.

Life is interesting.

A Month!

The little peanut is a month already! I know I previously said I was going to take a picture once a week of Aubrey on her quilt, but week 2 went by and so did week 3 without a picture. So, I decided that I could keep up on the once a month thing.

THIS...

...is how Warren eats apples.

After nibbling a couple of bites off of each slice and arranging them on the plate, he usually finishes them off. Strange...

I Never Thought I'd Hear Myself Say...

"Warren, keep that gun away from Aubrey until she's older!"

I came across this picture in a blog post via challies.com. Please check out the rest of the post here. It's worth the quick look.

Early 4th of July Fun

The longer we live in this town, the cooler it becomes. Aside from the birds, that is. On Sunday we went to the park to hear the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton play a little concert. They played all patriotic and Americana songs. It was so fun and felt like the perfect summer time activity sitting in our camping chairs munching on hot dogs and hamburgers, and hearing My Country 'Tis of Thee and the Washington Post March by Souza. Grammy and Papa and Aunt Natalie met us over there along with our niece Jaina. We ended the afternoon back at our house eating, what else, watermelon!

Some pics:

Warren was there, I promise. As tempting as it is sometimes to lock him in the basement and leave him at home, we took him with us. I just didn't get any good pictures of him.
Also: if anyone has figured out how to rotate pictures on blogger, please please let me know. I can't figure it out and I leave out some cute pics sometimes because they're sideways.
Ciao.

My Pretty Little Baby

Just having fun with the camera! (Actually, I was feeling a little guilty about not having very many pictures of Aubrey so I attempted to make it up all at once. Sorry baby girl, we really do love you as much as the boys!)
